Known Traxis 3500 AC-3 problem - will it ever be fixed?

I love my 3500, but no AC-3 passthrough?

It doesn't find the apid on scan, but even if entered manually it will not work.

It seems to be that way on a manually entered AC-3 apid on a Cs 5000 too. if it don`t scan in the apid for AC-3 sound then your screwed.

I see there was a software update 3-7-2006 that addressed a blind scan issue.

However,

I can't tell if this software is different than what is on my receiver. When I go to info, it tells me software is dbs3500 1.0.3.9 or something.

Ok then is that software update 3-7-2006 for the Cs 5000 or the Traxis??

That is for the Traxis. I'm not sure there has been one for the cs5000.

Yeah, it's nice except for that whole "not doing what it is supposed to" part.

OK, so I already had the latest firmware. I'm very disappointed that it is supposed to pass AC-3 (according to post linked above), but it is not. Looks like it is time to send this box into early retirement. Traxis is going to the bedroom to be a straight G10R box. MercII should be here Friday. Concrete going into the hole Saturday for the 1.2 meter install. StabHH120 has been assembled and set for proper latitude. Roger, Roger. What's your vector, Victor? That's a big 10-4 little, fat buddy.

Great, getting ready for my 4th dish soon. i will set a fixed dish on G10r

I think so too. From what I have read, it will also cure the other issue I've been having with the 3500. It will only move the motor after you've highlight the channel and THEN pressed OK.
