Dear Master-Beta Tester,

You are receiving a replacement Set-Top Box because, we Recently discovered a faulty production process with your FryreTV Boxxx. The issue was discovered last week while we were conducting additional tests at the set-top-box production site. The issue stems from a MAC Address duplication error which will render your box useless in the coming week. This issue is not a system-wide problem, but only affects boxxes produced on a specific date, unfortunatly the same day you box was produced.

Please follow the attatched instructions to return your old equipment back to our facility.

Note: Please keep all the boxxxes associated accories (Power adaptor, cables, remotes) do not send these back. All shipping costs for the faulty equipment will be incurred by FyreTV

I got the letter and replacement box too. Was having major problems after the last two upgrades, tried the new box and it still locks up.
 
I just received a replacement box today. It siad they had boxes with duplicate MAC addresses in their distribution. That can be a major problem if they leave them out there, especially when they get ready to charge for service.

They still have bugs to work out, lots of little things to do in the software.

Nice way to handle the replacements though, just ship it out with a prepaid label to send the old one, they kept it very simple.
 
Already two other threads on this as well; would be nice to merge them all in the original Back Room area for ease of reading & keeping like info together.
 
FyreTV is kinda slow as far as releasing updates or adding content.

They are waiting on the content until after the new firmware is dropped. The content is ready, but the firmware has to come down before the content. Supposedly the firmware update will have some UI changes. Possibly sometime this week, maybe next.
 
Anyways, I got my replacement box today too....seems like all master beta testers are getting the new boxes sent out.

Do I keep the 2nd sticker that came in the box?
I know the top sticker goes on top of the box..

It says at the bottom " This receipt is to be retained by the customer returning the merchandise".
 
I dunno. As long as there is a return address label to ship it back to FyreTV, I guess you do keep the other one. As far as I know there was supposed to be less than 100 boxes that was mis-programmed. Hopefully we will get some new stuff soon so you can work out the new box.
 
That second sticker has the tracking number so you have a record of the box making it back to FyreTV. Might want to hold onto that number. :)
