If shipping isn't same amount, its a good price, for what it is.
I wore one out in about 1yr though, not very well made as the tube just popped a little c-clamp or something and came out of the motor housing.

$34.99??!! Wow! That must be a misprint or it's not a reputable dealer. Everywhere else an actuator like that is over $300.

I've seen these advertised on Ebay many times for $34.99 . However item is heavy so you might want to check what the shipping price is. Here is were they will get you.
Currently on Ebay there is 24 in actuator for $5 dollars more. In conclusion it is not a deal , but regular price. If shipping is free then it is a good deal.

OK. I placed an order since I needed one for my new dish. The shipping charge is $7.00. But, I wonder how they can sell a new 36" actuator for such a low price when places like Skyvision are selling one for over $300.

I have dealt with All electronic for the last four years and they have good surplus products and I never had a problem with them. Recently purchased a 24Vdc 2amp switching power supply and it is a good peice of gear. There shipping is fast and they are reliable.

I would like to know what you think of the actuator after you receive it.
Thanks guys for all of the info.

Well, shoot me now. Still, that's still a huge difference in price for an 18 inch difference. I don't know how useful the actuator will be for me but I'm not going to send it back.

some reasons:

Why the price difference?
- length
- horsepower, or how much muscle it's got (regular model vs real heavy duty model)
- production quanity, mfgr may make lots of 18", but make 'n sell very few 36"
- plastic nut on metal screw, vs "recirculating ball" design (big bucks difference) -
- surplus blow out
- retailer selling at full retail
- quality of the product
- are you paying for a brand name?
- counts per inch (though, 48 per inch is about as good as you find with reed switch)
- (not sure about this one): Made in USA, vs made "elsewhere" -
