LNBF help

I am new to FTA. I've read that many here have the Invacom Quad LNBF.

1. Can someone here explain the advantages of single vs. dual vs. quad LNBF?

2. I only want to watch FTA, what is the best one to get as far as reception?

3. Is a rotor necessary or is it more for convenience?

1/ Means you can hook up to 4 receivers or two receivers getting both linear satellites and Circular satellites (With the use of two DiSEqC switch).

2/ Invacom LNB's have a super low noise value of 0.3dB (And they are a GOLD sponsor here) (If you mean what satellite, most agree G10R)

single-one receiver can be hooked up
dual-2 receivers can be hooked up (or more if you add a multiswitch)
quad-you have 4 outputs but 2 are for DBS and 2 for KU band. You could have 4 receievrs hooked up but if you are FTA only, its more like up to 2

either the Invacom or the Xtreme. Both are good units

Pete likes to overexaggerate a little bit
you don't need a motor, but to truly enjoy FTA its worth it. Without it you are limited to one satellite or you have to "ghetto move" (hand move) your dish to the other satellites. When its -20 out (as it can get in Minnesota) a motor pays for itself first cold day
