Anyone did any performance comparison tests on Invacom QPH-031 versus its clone Monster LC-101? Or just visually compared the output? Also, it was mentioned that Invacom can catch 118.8 FTA channels despite its not in the spec. Anyone tested that for Monster LC-101?

Is their a Monster's LC-101 Spec published anywhere (not just a copy of Invacom's spec)? The LNB is distributed by DGW, but what Chinese company makes it? Sat. stores sell both LNBFs in huge numbers, so comparison is quite relevant. Any opinions on how reliable & durable Monster is compare to Invacom? Does it have a warranty, and how easy to get it repaired under warranty?

Also for the price they want for those it's better to buy the invacom with a warranty.I found no price difference at all.

using a circular lnb to get linear freq works ok, using a linear lnb to get circular lnb's is poor at best, like very poor.

the qph-031 has two output linear (w/lofh of 10750) and circular (w/lofh of 11250)

lets that a look at anik f3 freq.

11715 is the first tp,

11715
-11250

this isnt even in the lband, the lof/h is WAY to high, your going to need to use the linear side of the lnb to get 118.8 and guess what, that will get you extremely poor conditions. I cant even get it reliable using a 1m dish ! yet I can get 118.8 just fine using my circular lnb of 10750 on an 18" just fine.

low power isnt the issue, its the fact your using a completly wrong lnb for the job.

Update: I have been busy working on other projects and haven't invested any time to further test the clone.

Honestly, the clone performance was acceptable and exceeded my expectations. I probably won't invest more time to perform additional testing as we have no interest in carrying the unit. I was just curious to test the unit as other units had claimed to be C/P without merit.... until now.

The reception and testing of the LNBF for FSS circular 11.7 - 12.2 GHz frequencies has no interest to me ..... but it seems to be quite attractive to another crowd. :o

Will there be more international FTA channels added to 118.8? Based on what you say, it sounds strange, but some people reported no reception problems in old.totallfta forum:
"Just did scan on 119 & 118.8 with 30" dish/QPH-031 aimed at 119w. Looks like good combo for people interested in adding lots of international channels to 119 with a single static mounted dish. Lots coming in on 118.8 with only a 30" dish and I am quite far north @ 49 N 124 W. Scan done with VS Xtreme, not the best choice for blind scan but got lots of channels."

Does it depend on location?

math doesnt depend on your location, the circular side will NOT work. the linear side will not work the way you want it it. try it you'll see for yourself. take your linear lnb and point it at 119 and see if you can tune any of those 118 tps ? it'll work terrible

I honestly havent seen alot of truefta on 118, 129 they pop up once in awhile, good channels too, just never for long.
