Is directv in process of moving the local channel onto the different satellite? I'm in the Hartford CT area and I know I dont get local due to a tree in the way of 119 satellite. I just notice that I'm picking up locals off and on? Is changes coming down the pipe? and there's no wind tonight. and the tree is still there if you're going to say that.

Is it possible that due to winter that the tree has lost its foliage and some signal is peeking through? Although they can move signals from tps to tps or sat to sat, the sat to sat move would likely be major and be a known move. can you get your dish any higher up in the air?

No I cannot, It at it highest on top of the house, and the tree is a pine tree. Could it be that they are testing the KA or KU band?

Tell us about your receivers and dish.

My guess is that the tree's naked branches are enough to cause you to gain and lose a signal.

Since this wasn't in the HD area I think we took a leap of faith (since the OP didn't mention his gear) that he is talking about SD and thus no one mentioned 99 or 103 KA bnad/MPEG4 to him.
