I noticed all our local channels have the -00 after them, much like an OTA setup has.

In the future, will the subchannels be on?

I would guess not. In markets where digital subchannels have been added they have been placed on completely different Dish channel numbers. As if you get CBS on affiliate ZYXW channel 6.1 and 006-00 on your Dish receiver, and their digital subchannel is ABC on 6.2. Dish put the ABC subchannel on channel 010-00. That set up is there for the OTA capabilities.

When will Dish ever consider adding those stations? Cable does, but none of the sat provider got these stations on their local lineup depending on the state and location

Precious bandwidth is the reason. If either sat provider wanted to add all the sub channels in every market they would have to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to launch new sats.

The -00 on the mapped locals have been there a very long time. If subchannels are something you want, you should check into getting an OTA antenna and get them for free. The receiver's that can get them make use of a separate tuner(s), also nice to be able to use.

All Dish provided local channels are xx.00 to differentiate them from the Over The Air local channels which always start at xx.1 and up.
