I have a question about the am 21. Do you need a separate antenna? Or is the dish the antenna? How exactly do you set it up? Would it get any channels if you are on the coast in southern NJ?

It needs an antenna like any ota tuner. The dish won't work as an antenna. You should be able to pick up many stations where you are, but they may all be available from Directv through your subscription to local channels. Check AntennaWeb to get an idea of what you can receive where you are.
