Logitec Revue free for new customers?

A friend of mine was telling me that he got his revue free, as a new customer.

Anyone else get theirs for free?

There is no promotion for a free Revue from DISH for new customers that I know of.

Last I heard dish is still selling them for 179 even though the price has droped to 99 everywhere else. Plus if you buy from dish you have to add the $4/month fee to your account

We sell the Logitech Revue for $99 now (dropped last week as Scott mentioned). I also am unaware of any promotions going on that would allow a customer (new or existing) to get one for free.

The sling adapter rebate is the only thing I can think of that is similar

Will the ones they are selling now for $99.00 be upgradeable when they release an update or will the new ones have more memory to support apps?

If you goto logitech revue website they list Dish as a partner. If you click the link, it still lists it at $179 while on Logitechs site it says $99.

It is charged automatically when ordering through DISH.

Are these receiver commands/responses going over the LAN or HDMI?

Can't speak to the revue, but the current dish receivers don't have hdmi 1.4 interfaces which is required for both ether channel and audio return channel.
