Hey guys i read this forum all the time to see what's new with dish. I have only been a customer since october so still a newbie. please dont hate its only a question. but im wondering why dish has no gay programming on at all like LOGO?
can someone help shed light on this matter. and yes i know i could have anyone else but dish but i like there service so far and i face the east so direct tv is not an option for me only dish or high price comcast cable. hope you all have a good day thanks in advance for any answers i get

LOGO is part of the MTV family and became a channel after the last negotiations for the package. It will probably added when the new negotiations come up but not sure when that will be.
Beyond LOGO, there aren't a whole lot out there as far as "gay programming" so...

well im hopeful that on jan 1st we will get logo but i dont have my hopes to high. i think its really sad that dish refuses to air this channel. hopefully dish and viacom will kiss and makeup so we can get this new logo channel and for those interested in the full time N channel.Nick Gas needs to go so im questioning whether there will be a contract issue with viacom on the 1st of jan. There always seems to be one major tv company in limbo with dish on jan 1st so its anyones guess this year.

Isn't there a ton of programming geared to the gay community on HGTV, Bravo and other channels? It's just not labeled as such but its obvious to anyone that tries to watch it who isn't. :)

See ya

My wife records a few shows on Bravo such as the Top Chef, the Hair Stylist one, and the Fashion designer competition show. I joked to her that there must be a three gay minimum on each show.

There is also Lifetime and CBS.

Dish network epitomizes blue dog democrats. They will not add LOGO until MTV forces the issue. They did not add it when they added MTV2. Without putting too fine a point on it, a few members of the board are LDS and Dish recently fought equity language in its HR policies. They have been listed by the Human Right Campaign as not being an inclusive company. That said, on a charlie chat, Mr. Ergan once said he would never allow pornography on Dishnetwork because they are a family company - only to add Playboy several months later because there was a profit to be made. Money always wins out over politics.

Probably the shows most appealing to gay people are those like "Brothers and Sisters", the "L word" and not the metrosexual fluff on bravo. I personally would like to see the series "Sordid Lives" on LOGO. It was positively reviewed in the Times not too long ago.

I look at it this way... I'm not black but I get the BET channel. I don't even have to PAY EXTRA for it either, its included in almost every channel package. hmm... makes ya think?

I'm not gay, but I still think channels like Logo should be carried if I have programming like BET. Programming should be open to any and all groups of people. Companies like Verizon Fios and Direct-tv offer it.

A closed mind will hurt in the long run. Review the situation from all sides, and understand life changes. Something to think about: Lets review Dish's last months earnings. Charlie is not laughing all the way to the bank any more.

I agree. To take it one step further I watch Indian`and Korean TV and enjoy them, but I am not Asian.

Good news: Free Speech TV has some GLBT programming. And they have some other documentaries which are astonishing. DemocracyNow has news you can't get anywhere else.

FSTV is in the Public Interest channel group. (free)

Money always wins of politics great line!!! I am gay and have have not interest in brothers or sisters or those metrosexual shows on HGTV or Bravo. Not all of us live in big cities either or labled as liberal left wingers........... it just would great if they provide would more diversified programming and dont mean gay and lebsian either... I have to say they do over much more left programming with channels like free speech tv, aleria and others.. and why doesnt dish or direct have BBC world or CNN international for world news instead of state run CCTV from china..very disturbing.. it just would nice to see a much more world news however most americans have no interest on what happens outside the box. Add LOGO now!

I have requested LOGO several times myself for the Sordid Lives series, guess we'll wait and see. I just refuse to go to Directv or cable for the channel, so I will wait patiently or until a DVD comes out.
