Hello Guys
Ok I am thinking of getting an S2 HD receiver, I have read a few threads on here, but it is hard to get a good over view of which may or may not be best, I don't think I can talk the boss into an AZ box, but what is the best of the rest?
Thanks
Terry

ONe of the things that I did not like about the AZbox is that it did not have blind scan, but I see now that they new ones do have blind scan, I might just see if I can come up with the funds for an ultra, I think that one will do what I want, I don't realy need any front panel display.
Can some one tell me who has the best price/customer service?
Thanks
Terry

If new, I think the only two choices are AZbox and SSO.
You might check out the scan speed before you lay down your cash.

If used, there are a very few additional S2/HD boxes worth it.

Ok so is the SSO the sathawk? I have been searching and can't realy seam to find that out.
And does it do 422?
Thanks

SSO-Sathawk, Solomend, Openbox
same unit different name (a search would have found that info) ;)

it does NOT do 4:2:2

My top three DVB-S2 HD satellite receiver recommendations:
1) OpenBox S9 HD PVR Receiver
2) OpenBox S9 HD PVR Receiver
3) OpenBox S9 HD PVR Receiver

I hope this helps. :)

Sorry if I implied the SSO did 4:2:2... obviously , it doesn't.
However, 4:2:2 isn't just bragging rights.
Ask what it's used for before blindly demanding it.

If ya don't need it, then the SSO is the choice of many.
If you -do- need 4:2:2, then save your pennies. - ;)

Some of the channels that I would like to get are in 422, if I can't get those channels I have no use for a new box this is the reason I am interested in 422, I was thinking seriously about the Sathawk, then I went back and looked at the audio format only to find that atleast two of the channels I would like to have are in 422 so I guess I will start saving my pennies.
Thanks
Terry

Read the posts above your question...the answers hath been posted ;)

Yes I caught that, but a lot of things get said only to find that it might not be nessisarly so, and when the Openbox came recommended not once, not twice, but three times I thought it was appropriate to ask!
