I'm looking for some information from anyone subscribed to Shaw Direct (Starchoice) currently. If you do could you pull up Options 6,0,5 and tell me what line 4 second entry reads. See attached pictures number 1 is my Shaw. I have a DSR 405 not subbed for a while and wondering what the current monthly key is for Shaw. The second picture shows my 4DTV currently subscribed. I'm looking for this information to see if Shaw and the 4D are in sync with each other. If so if the 4DTV consumer data stream goes away I wonder if the Shaw one could be used to keep "U" type U.S. channels open somehow.

My unsubbed 205 shows the same as yours tvropro

I dont know how to check it on a 505 since the only way to see ebno is options 6-4-7

TVROpro I am not sure I follow. Could you explain your thought process a little differently.

Your trying to see if they use the same authorization center?

Now I'm lost since you guys are showing different codes. My 4DTV shows FF98 0 and FF98 1. I figured that is the monthly working key. I was hoping that Starchoice showed the same working key for each month. That way that data stream may be able to be utilized if the 4D's consumer stream went down. I know my videocipher hasn't updated since they canned the consumer data steam and figured the DC would work the same since they are based on the same technology somewhat. Maybe it's time to go back to the drawing board.

Starchoice receivers definitely are using different keys. They all come from the same ACC I believe. It's possible that it's a thing like the original VC that C4 was for 010, A5 for 018 and 77 for 032.

The ACC is ACC, all from the same place. I know *choice has a different EMM than the 4D and HITS. I think the commercial units also have there own EMM.

If you could trick a decoder it may open the others "U" channels. This would be necessary if the 4D stream gets canned.
