Looking to setup a D11 receiver and get CNN
I was about to set it up on 101 and get HGTV
I know I the sub was getting CNN BUT don't know which sat that is on?
Maybe 119? I have 18" old school dishes and I think I need to get the combinder to hook up two dishes?
Which other sats should I point the second dish at?

CNN SD (and most SD) is on the 101.

only SD that is on 119 is Spanish and **some** local markets

but you can't activate an old receiver and start an account

Thanks all. Receiver already activated. Did find CNN on 101.

What Iceberg meant is you can't open a new account with old equipment.

Since I'm not sure where you're at, I can't be 100% sure...but most likely, that 2nd (18") dish was previously used for SD local channels in your market from a 72.5 bird, that D* NO longer uses. (all those locals were transitioned to Ka sats) There are LOTS of them in my area STILL up all over the place...even AFTER those same houses were upgraded to Slimline dishes!
