Ok, I don't have the best credit so dish wants me to pay 199 for an hd receiver and they want me to pay the dha activation fee of 99 plus 1st month of service. I am good with the first month and the 199 but is there anyway to get around that 99 activation fee? That just seems crazy to me to pay 99 for activation.

Also what's these claims that dtv says dish only has part time HD channels?

IDK about the activation fee. But, all of my HD channels are always on. Maybe Direct is talking about RSN's???

Does their offer include a dish and installation? I'm guessing that's what the $99 gets you but you need to ask to be sure.

It doesn't get much worse than the deal you've been offered. The next (final) step down is having to prepay a year at a time for programming.

I would imagine if this is the best that DISH Network will do, DIRECTV probably won't offer you service at all.

Nope, Directv has lower credit standards than Dish right now, so they may offer the OP a better deal.
