the tv that always works is the closest to the lnb,we did change his sky box but made no difference

Now that we have determined that one receiver is causing this issue try one or more of the following:

1. Ground (earth) each of the 4 coax cables before entering the homes.
2. Try another brand of quad LNBF
3. Merge the four outputs of the Quad LNBF into a powered 4x4 multi-switch (as a buffer) then distribute to the four receivers
4. Replace receiver with another brand or model
5. Disconnect the receiver that is causing the problem and install a separate dish
6. Swap cables on the four ports of the LNBF

yes someone always puts his tv on at that time and i have now found out that when he turns his tv off the others come back on,...what do you mean by amp overload and return loss problem and what should i do...thanks

I'll PM you a nice link that has a great tutorial on cabling, amplifiers , overloading lnbs and return loss. It should give you a good idea where to look. Return loss relates to what could be described as echo. There are signal "echos" that travel back in the cabling. High quality devices absorb the echo. You want high return loss ( absorb the echo). Open connections are one example of something that can create this problem.

hi guys,i have solved the problem..hope you understand this, the person who never had a problem only watched his tv at night (as i said before our problen started at about 8 pm every night),so by chance we found that he had a electric 2 bar fire with a red light for display to make the room look warmer ,he never uses the electric bars,so we tested the fire, when he puts the fire on we lose our picture and when he turns the fire off we get no problem,so he never puts the fire on and we no longer get a problem,,,what do you make of that ????.....thanks for all your help,i have learned a lot from you all
