So maybe LG will be forced to put ATSC 3 tuners back in their TVs, pay that royalty fee, and all future royalties that come up from people crawling out of the woodwork?

Or stop making TVs, make only monitors (no tuners at all).

I don't see any reasons for LPTV to adopt 3.0. With 1.0, it was about clearing up the spectrum and making efficient use of it. 3.0 just seems to be a control mechanism. Backwards compatibility needs to be maintained for the small stations that can't afford an upgrade and to maintain competition and options for consumers. If the big networks go 3.0, fine. I don't need to watch your stuff. Don't force those independent stations to comply just because you want all consumers to be forced on to a controlled system.
