Matte Black or Glossy Black - Televisions?

Matte black (flat black) or glossy black.

Televisions.

I see more and more glossy black edges on televisions at the big box stores and fewer and fewer of the matte (flat) black edges.

What's the story with these two types of finishes on new televisions?

When you say what's the story, what do you mean? All 4 of my HDTVs are glossy or piano black. Which is what I prefer.

IMO, the matte tv's are a little older, and the newer ones are glossy. Years back, after the silver kick, many of them were flat black. I much prefer the glossy black for a TV.
