Stolen from donny2112 at NeoGAF:

Wii should surpass the 360 going by U.S. + Japanese totals by the end of June. This data is only through the end of May, so it doesn't include this week's data.

Nintendo definately is dominating.
This has to be a big concern for Microsoft, even more so though is that the PS2 continues to outsell the 360.

Sony is somewhat helped by the PS2 continued sales, this will ensure games are still made available for the PS3.
Good numbers on the PSP will help greatly, if/when Sony ever decides to make use of the interoperability. Much as Nintendo did with the Gamecube & GBA.

you bring up a good point with the Ps2 sales, and I would like to take that a step further...I think strong Ps2 sales now help the Ps3 later, when these people do upgrade, they have a bunch of Sony stuff sitting around I would tend to assume they will upgrade to sony*.

*-Unless Sony dosent have a price drop soon, then at that point they are pricing themselves out of the market. but word on the street is there WILL be a price drop before christmas.

If people are still buying PS2's, why would you think they'll run out tomorrow and buy a PS3? Don't make sense to me.

The reason why PS2 is outselling 360 is because of the price difference. Right now, PS2 is the cheapest way to get a console that is still having games made for it.

PS3 is dead in the water. It cost too much money, and the majority of gamers won't pay $600 for a game machine (most don't care about Blu-Ray, even those that do, standalone players are now cheaper, and more are more likley to pay a little more for standalone than to buy a PS3). PS3 can't come down in price much, and therefore, DOA!

Glad to know Nintendo is finally back on top. I've been a Xbox fan since the Xbox came out (and now with the 360 too), but go back 10-12 years ago, Nintendo was my favorite.

I guess a Wii is in my future, LOL.

Is Wii a fad? IMHO, no, I think it appeals to so many because it is what they say it is, a game console. With 360 and PS3, things kind of moved away from being a game console, and hence a much higher price tag. Gamers just want to play games on a game console, not really watch Blu-Ray or HD-DVD (why 360 add-on HD-DVD drive hasn't sold much), browse the net, etc... If PS3 dropped it's price to $200, everyone would buy one! But that won't happen, at least for 3 or 4 years, so PS3 remains the most expensive, and least wanted console out there. 360, though I really enjoy, is the second most expensive and least wanted.

If you look at it from a price point, you can see that Wii is cheapest and first in sells, PS2, though from the former generation, has new games and cheaper price tag keep it at the number 2 spot, followed by 360, and finally, PS3 the most expensive. No matter how Sony or Sony fanboys want to spin it, as long as PS3 is most expensive, it will be dead last in sells, plain and simple.

Tony, read through my post, I didnt say they will buy a Ps3 tommorow, I said LATER also I did say if sony dosent come down with a price cut or something then they are pricing themselves out.

PS1 continued to outsell the PS2 by a large margin for well over a year. The same thing is happening now, and the same predictions of PS2 flopping due to not supplanting PS1 were made.
