From 12/17 through 12/31, customers with HD equipment will get a free preview of MBC Drama HD - the first 24-hour Korean HD channel, 100% subtitled in English. The channel offers MBC dramas as well as Korean box office hits, HD documentaries and K-pop music programs.

MBC Drama HD (channel 385) will be available on 12/17 as an a la carte add-on for $9.99 a month to all new and existing DIRECTV subscribers with HD equipment.

Actually the channel is pretty awesome. Lots of good programming on it with most of it in English, or english subtitled. I was able to catch a glimpse of it a while back when it appeared on Cband for a moment.

Currently shows as testing on DIRECTV 10 at 103W xpndr 9. Hidden test channel is 9385, so look for it to appear on ch. 385 when it goes live.

Ala carte for all packages AFAIK. ...

Technically, not totally true ...

They could have chosen to place it along with the four existing Spanish HD channels on DIRECTV-7S xpndr 24 at 119W.

But I agree that certainly wouldn't have been likely. ..

I sometimes enjoy different programming. If it's English and not cheesy, hey why not? $10 for just this? No thanks. $10 for an international English package including CBC and the real BBC? Now we're talking. (and only talking since it will never happen...)
