Mercury Insurance has a commercial that shows the letter "M" in a corn field. A man suspects Mercurian aliens did it. The commercial ends with a tractor in the background.

I wonder how many people in the general audience actually "get it."

Get what? that its a spoof of crop circles or that the commercial could potentialy imply a stereotype as to the inteligence or lack of in the rural and farming community.

I actually had Mercury Insurance when I lived in California (they had an office in the building where I worked, so it was an easy sign up).

I'm guessing that the tractor in the background implied that it was faked.

I saw a few commercials on Dish in Michigan right before I moved and then again on Directv after I moved but nothing on Charter.
