"Your receiver has not received Guide information from the satellite for 4 hours. Please contact DIRECTV Customer Service (920)."

This is on an HR23-700. I normally receive the one that says "1 hour" usually once a day. (or so) However, I have seen this 4 hour one several times as well. Does anyone know why I get these?

From my experiance the issue is caused by the wrong dish selection (on setup) usually a sl5 set up as a sl3 *ALSO make sure its right on Directv's end - make a call

I guess the guide date issue has been resolved, as there are no new posts for 5 days. :)

Unfortunately not. The issue is still there. I actually saw the error message go as high as 7 hours the other day. Most of the time it only says one hour. It has never affected the performance of the box. I have always had all of my guide data when I needed it. It's more of an annoyance than anything.

Check your signal strengths... :)

Hope this means something to you... cause it makes no sense to me. I'm a computer nerd, but all of this is new to me!

Thanx for the help!

Does this issue have anything to do with the CE Program? otherwise it needs to be moved out of this forum into the DIRECTV Technical Discussions - SatelliteGuys.US

The DVR in question is running the latest CE that had MRV. I believe it was 435F. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I will gladly repost somewhere else if you feel it would be more appropriate.

No,I'm a little cranky tonight, sorry nhra328z.

It would help if people understood that you are usning CE software, maybe others with the same software are having the issue as well?

Was this happening before the CE software?

I only had this DVR for about a week before I put CE software on it. So to be honest, I don't remember. Since I haven't read any other troubles like this lately, I just assumed that it was something with the setup/config of this particular DVR or my satellite.

If you've done what fed-up-installer has suggested then, I would guess it's the CE software or bad receiver. Other then that, I've got no more suggestions that I am currently aware of.

I think you might have hit on something! I checked the settings on my R22 and it shows the satellite as a Slimline-5 & 72.5. However, the installer that came and brought my HR23 had it on Slimline 3. I am changing the HR23 to Slimline-5 & 72.5 as we speak. We'll see if this works...

Thanx to everyone for your help!
