Missing recordings of programs.

I apologize if I am going over old topics but I'm really tired of missing recordings of programs because a ball game ran late. Sunday's are the most problems but it also happens at other times. I seem to remember - years ago - Direct TV would record the program regardless if it actually started on time or later. I have a VP922 that I use the Sling option for my iphone. Thanks

Dish will only adjust the recordings if the guide changes - which it doesn't do on sports event overruns (like last night with college BB). What we do is to extend the timer by an hour (or more) so that an hour long show records two hours. The downside is that it takes up a tuner, so depends on what else you are recording.

Thanks for the response. I as afraid that might be the case. Does anyone know if I'm correct about Direct TV using the tech that can deal with this? If so - why would Dish not also use it?

In order to do that, a tech would have to sit there and watch every sporting event and then reprogram the epg on the spot for each time zone.
