Well hopefully the Cubs are the remedy. LOL

I have to mention this. Im so disgusted with the Mets right now, its not even funny. 13-0, really? really? Completely pathetic. Im calling the Mets out right now. You know, I didnt think they would trade half the team at the deadline but it would have been nice if the Mets picked up someone. Show that your trying to win. So now the Mets are a ghost town, yet again. Now, Im worried that the Mets be so bad that they fall into last place, which may happen.

Yeah. The Marlins have gotten Stanton back(4 for 5 and 2 homers last night) and will soon get Bonafacio back. Too bad Morrison is out for the year, more than likely. They are DONE...but they have games with playoff teams where they will make their lives miserable.

From, the Boston Herald: Between them, Beckett and Lester are 10-19 with a 5.18 ERA. Worse yet, the Red Sox have gone 15-27 in their 42 starts. If they were merely 21-21, they would be leading the wild card race and making the first-place New York Yankees sweat.

Weird. Having Ellsbury and Crawford out had virtually no affect on the Red Sox because the guys who took their at bats had comparable production. If the Red Sox had won 60% of Lester's and Beckett's starts, which is what teams are supposed to do in games started by their 1 and 2 starters, they'd have a team record of 65-48 and be so far ahead of the wild card pack that the only talk would be of which team could secure the second wild card and how unfair it would be to the Red Sox to play that team in a one-game, winner take all playoff.

I still think Beckett is causing a lot of this turmoil and bringing Lester down with him. Its too bad because when both are on there "A" game they were very good. They needed them to be good this year and they are both letting the team down. I wonder what Beckett's contract is because I would think they would get rid of him.

Strasmas report:
Code:
Pitchers: IP H R ER BB SO HR PC-ST ERA
Strasburg: 6.0 1 1 1 4 6 0 104-58 2.90
(W, 13-5)

Strasburg gave up his only hit after having to stand on the mound for ten minutes while the home plate umpire was being tended to. With only six strikeouts in six innings, his road strikeouts per inning ratio goes down.

133.1 innings down, 26.2 remaining.

Detroit plays 28 of its remaining 47 games against teams with losing records, so for them to not get a wild card spot would require a fold of Red Soxian proportions. Basically, the Angels, the Rays, the Orioles and the Athletics are roughly evenly positioned for the other wild card spot. For the Red Sox to get it, they'd have to win 70% of their remaining games without any of those four afornamed teams winning 60%. Has slim left the room yet?

Reds are back on track. Won their 3rd in a row yesterday.

My Giants pulled one out yesterday. Pence finally got off the schneid. It was actually a great game to watch, except for Rockies fans. Should be a good series starting today with the Nats who just owned the Giants out in Washington. We all know now the Nats are for real and I don't see them letting up. I heard they are going to shut Strasburg down when he gets in a certain amount of innings. Wonder how that'll work getting him going again in the post season?

Pirates are back on track, too. They ended their 3-game skid yesterday. Yeah, we Pirate fans will take what we can get. :(

I told everyone at the beginning of the season that the Pirates are a good team and will finish the year with a .500 record or better.

I also said my Dodgers will stink, so I am not the best at predictions. ;)

If your a Pirates fan, dont get worried. You never know when a team catches on hot and a team gets cold. Just ask the Red Sox and the Braves.

Seems like 2 colossal egos involved here. You really dont know who's right or wrong. It seems like a few of the Red Sox players seem to have huge egos and care about themselves. Look what they did to Terry Francona. It wouldnt shock me that they are trying to do the samething to Bobby V.

On the other hand...Bobby V. can wear out his welcome. Just ask the Mets. He goes by the thinking, "its either my way or the highway." Hes got a big ego and can be stubborn. There has to be a resoultion in sight.

I think Bobby V. no longer has it as a manager. There is nothing wrong with either a players coach or a disciplinary, but either way, you have to adapt to TODAY'S baseball player, not the player of 20 years ago.

"The intent of the meeting was to provide a forum for people to express whatever frustration needed to be expressed at a time during the season when things were not going exactly the way we wanted to on the field in hopes that we could put whatever issues were there aside and focus on playing games the rest of the season. That was the intent of the meeting. That was the focus of ownership. It was a productive meeting.

"Since then, we have not gone on the run we were supposed to."

Oh.
