Wow, that was scary. I sure hope he is okay.

Yeah, me too. I saw the clip. I'm glad he was sitting up when he got hit. Also, glad he was conscious and alert and sitting up after he got hit. It could have been a lot worse. I'm glad he's ok.

I have my snacks and favorite beverage ready for the big game on Sunday at 1:00 that everyone here in SE Mass is talking about.........Blue Jays at Red Sox!!!!

Bill, did you hear Bobby Valentine on WEEI today? If you not, I'll give you the link. Bobby V. is having a meltdown. I think if he leaves after this year, I dont think he'll talk to anybody until next year. I really think its getting to him now. You dont know who to blame. Is it him or is it the team?

I hope the Rangers can make it back to the WS just so they can hopefully win it this time and say they have a WS championship under their belt. They are the only DFW based team without a championship.

A few more trips without winning one and they'll be calling them the Vikings !

Tampa Bay Rays' Matt Moore tips his pitches? ESPN says that he taps his glove before he throws a fastball.but he he doesn't tap his glove when he throws a breaking ball or change up. You'd think a pitching coach would try to break him of that habit. After ESPN has officially "let the cat out of the bag," it'd be a must.

The Yankees lead Baltimore and Oakland by one game and Tampa Bay by two and a half. I just realized that if those teams finish the season with better record than the Yankees, then not one of the teams with the FIVE biggest payrolls will make the playoffs in this, the first year that TEN TEAMS make the playoffs.

The Yanks/Rays series was entertaining. Now, if I am not mistaken...they play the Orioles in a crucial 3 game series.

After last year's loss I was actually saying they reminded me of the Bills of the early 90's.... Multiple trips and no championship. :( I sure hope they can do it this year if given the chance.

A more apt "baseball" comparison is the Atlanta Braves. For all of the times they won their division, they only won 1 World Series,& I seriously can't remember the last time they advanced past the opening round of the playoffs.

In the last 3 starts against the Marlins, Strasberg has pitched 13 innings, given up 17 hits and 11 earned runs.

I realy thought this three inning start was going to be followed by a fake injury report to keep him available for the playoffs.

Strasburg shut down for the season. He only had one more start anyway.....

..yeah...the strange thing I saw was that SUPPOSEDLY the team shut him down for mental reasons?

I realy thought this three inning start was going to be followed by a fake injury report to keep him available for the playoffs.

Yep. I guess they're making sure it's known that he's not physically hurt, just mentally....

This could be thier ploy to rest him and have him ready for the Post Season.

Sounds like he had a mental breakdown, if so, thats SCARY.

Meaning that Strasberg was not impressive in that game ...

Has not been impressive at all against the Marlins. If I am not mistaken, he is 2-3 with a couple of no decision and a ERA around 5.
