MLB 2013 Season

It is so sad. The Mets have "unearthed" Ralph Kiner for yet another season. He is barely understandable slurring his words and sounds like he is drooling. I respect Mr. Kiner and his baseball legacy...however there comes a time and he is way past his in the broadcast booth. I am embarrassed for him and all Mets fans.

I have to say the Reds fared better than I thought they would against 2 of the teams that are predicted to be division champs this year. They were 2-1 against both the Angels and Nationals.

Like I said, the Angels pitching staff is not all that good.

I think the Reds win that division handily. I think they are one of the top 5 teams in the NL along with Washington, Atlanta, San Fran, and L.A.

Dodgers,

The Angels are calling for one of your 7 starters.

Not gonna lie.....I'm very encouraged by the Red Sox start. Lester and Buchholz look great two turns through the rotation, and the bullpen has been as good as advertised.

I still think that the Sox need another power bat to contend over the long haul, but they do play in a division that has no great teams (but also no bad ones).

They do have one, but he's playing simulated games right now. Looks like Stephen Drew will be in tomorrow night's starting lineup...

I know, but I think they need another bat besides Papi. Napoli, Gomes, Victorino and Drew are all good complementary players, but I still think they need another power bat. Of course, if Middlebrooks start isn't an abberation, then he could be that bat.

Should be interesting to see what the Sox do with the roster prior to tomorrow's game. IMO, it should be Ingelsias going down to Pawtucket. The kid has been playing outstanding ball, but it's not fair to him to be a utility infielder at this point in his development. He needs to play every day.

Did anyone see that the Reds scored 9 runs in the 9th inning when the score was tied? That was crazy. They had like 3 infield hits.

Carl Crawford is hitting .476 at this moment. A-Gonz is hitting .429.

- Bob Lobel

And they are the only two guys hitting for them.
