MLB Network campaign against DishNet

What did the email say?

They used to have Dish Network listed in the section of providers that don't offer MLB Network, but now I only see AT&T UVerse there and Dish Network is gone altogether.

I would say so.

Actually, I hope and wish Dish would get MLBNet and EI. More providers that carry it, the better off all of us EI subs will be.

I thought the same thing, but Dish is at the top of the page.....

The email says "Tired of striking out when it comes to requesting MLB Network?" "Throw DISH a curve"

Then it encourages you to switch providers, provides links to the competition and suggests their could be special offers with those providers.

Dish has a serious problem when it comes to HDRSN's and Baseball programming. Dish made a serious mistake to let MLB and MLB extra innings go. While Dish might have the attitude that sports programming is unwanted, unfortunately I would say the majority of customers would think else wise. While dish is the value provider, customers want to see that value with the channels and sports channels they want, not dish. Look at opening day, the majority of games is not on in HD. What a way to piss off customers.

Not having MLB Network and Extra Innings is one thing, but Dish better figure out a solution to their HD RSN's in a hurry. If the guide is correct and there end up being multiple Cubs games every week broadcast in SD, I will be gone without hesitation. I can tolerate no MLB Network, but I won't accept taking a step backwards with less HD games than the previous year.

Yea it's interesting Sky Angel has it. Granted only in SD but the other thing is no Extra Innings. So apparently they are willing to give it out without EI. It stinks that they arent treating everybody the same.

All depends on the area...around here most people can care less about baseball and/or RSNs.

I am all for Dish doing the occasional HD RSNs and using the bandwidth for national HD programming. Plenty enough of sports on OTA and ESPN already.

Dish used to do this stuff 2 years ago when i had them. It sounds like nothing has changed in this department since i switched to directv. In this day and age you would think you would be able to watch your local team in hd on your rsn if you had dish!!!! Heck people are already talking about espn 3d and here dish is not even being able to provide a lot of the local hd games. I'm glad i have directv now for much more sports coverage. I WAS however considering going back to dish but after reading stuff like this they simply drive away even the casual sports fan.

With ESPN/ESPN2/WGN/TBS/RSN I get my fix, plenty of baseball to be seen. If you do need your out of market team I can see why MBL EI would be a fit for those!

Though I am debating, seeing how MLB TV is through playon for 99.00 for the season to see how it looks

I guess I would rather have the MLB Network and full time HD RSN's. Skip all the new national HD as there really isn't that much interesting to go HD ... except ESPNU-HD ... :):)

I'm fine with the part-time HD RSN. But if there is a game on that is broadcast in HD, they damn well better put it on.

Last night in MN was the opening of the new ballpark. Comcast and DirectTV got to see it in HD on Fox Sports North, but not all of us good ol Dish subscribers.

Our RSN I belive will be showing all Tiger games in HD, if there are some that are not, not going to go crazy

So if you paid for a Tigers ticket down by the dugout, and they come up to you and say.. sorry you can't sit here, you have to sit on the top row in the upper deck, would you be OK with that?

I'm assuming no. If none of the carriers carry it then fine. But if direct tv and comcast has it in HD, then DISH should have it also.

Did anyone else read this and go back to when they were a kid and you wanted to do something and your mom said no and you said, "but soandso's mom is letting him", and your mom's reply was, "So what if soandso's mom let him do it? If soandso's mom let him jump off the Empire State Building, would you want me to let you do it too?"
