Hi,

Can someone tell me if there are any motorized systems that can do vertical as well as horizontal positioning?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you need positioning beyond the Clarke belt?

A typical polar mount or the H-H motors (SG2100 etc) will follow the Clarke belt horizon to horizon.

some of the satellites are inclined slightly out of the Clarke belt. That's probably what the person is talking about.

I know Ham and AM-SAT operators use and build full azimuth / elevation mounts but I haven't heard of anyone doing it for TVRO.

Thanks for the information.

I'm in Germany and I am having trouble aligning the satellite vertically. So, it appears I will have to let the professionals install the dish for me.

Check out the 1224EL unit. Google search;) . I seem to recall at least one vendor in the UK, Deutchland and Italia that have it. You may be interested in the Manhattan 550 stb as well...
