I am moving later in the year and instead of having to worry about installing a dish, I am going to stick with them but for streaming. I currently have a C71KW-400. Can I keep that and continue to use it but for streaming?

It has the satellite software on it but not the streaming software on it. Supposedly there are ways to revert it back to the streaming software. Also DIRECTV might tell you to return it when you cancel.

There's not a lot of anecdotal evidence of Geminis making the trip from satellite to streaming. Supposedly, if it works, the process is the same.

There's also some evidence (from seven months ago on Reddit) that DIRECTV may want a satellite Gemini back. As DIRECTV doesn't appear to be making new residential STBs, there may be some truth to this.

I'm curious too, as I'll be moving from CA to NV in a 3/4 months.

Good luck if you need to sell a house.

May the Gods be with you to get movers leaving CA to elsewhere at a reasonable price. It MIGHT be better to pay movers than U-Haul. Price carefully. Few are moving TO CA, so….

Fewer yet are moving to Nevada, which is the immediate concern.

Selling a house in California typically starts your move off with a pretty tidy sum, as does getting out from under a rental or apartment monthly fee if that's what you have.
