I am moving later in the year and instead of having to worry about installing a dish, I am going to stick with them but for streaming. I currently have a C71KW-400. Can I keep that and continue to use it but for streaming?
It has the satellite software on it but not the streaming software on it. Supposedly there are ways to revert it back to the streaming software. Also DIRECTV might tell you to return it when you cancel.I am moving later in the year and instead of having to worry about installing a dish, I am going to stick with them but for streaming. I'm curious too, as I'll be moving from CA to NV in a 3/4 months.I am moving later in the year and instead of having to worry about installing a dish, I am going to stick with them but for streaming. I currently have a C71KW-400. Can I keep that and continue to use it but for streaming?

Fewer yet are moving to Nevada, which is the immediate concern.Few are moving TO CA, so….
when we left dtv they told us to trash everything and they didn't want anything back including the gemini!!! if i was the OP id'e keep e-mails and record phone convo's incase they try and charge him for it like they did us!!! though i got that taken care of!!!It has the satellite software on it but not the streaming software on it. If the OP was going further than NV.. he could rent a penske truck cheaper in NV and avoid the CA exit tax since no ones moving to CAGood luck if you need to sell a house.
May the Gods be with you to get movers leaving CA to elsewhere at a reasonable price. It MIGHT be better to pay movers than U-Haul. Price carefully. Few are moving TO CA, so….

Yeah it has been proven you can't believe DIRECTV CSR's about returning equipment and to be safe store it for a few years. And keep those emails too.when we left dtv they told us to trash everything and they didn't want anything back including the gemini!!! if i was the OP id'e keep e-mails and record phone convo's incase they try and charge him for it like they did us!!! though i got that taken care of!!!

Check if some level of government (usually the state) has an "e-cycling" program.I think I'm safe now to get rid of it, but How do I do that ?
In NY and NC each county must provide collection points for electronic recycling.Check if some level of government (usually the state) has an "e-cycling" program.
It looks like Ohio may offer "E-waste" programs at a regional level (i.e. SWACO).In NY and NC each county must provide collection points for electronic recycling.
