Moving my system

Hi all,

Soon I'll be moving my receiver and TV setup to a different part of the room. This means I will need to extend the cable coming in from the dish on my roof so that it can reach my receiver.

I wanted to be sure that normal coaxial cable was all I needed. Also, since the original installer didn't put in a jack at the wall (just a cable coming through) I will need to add an extension to that cable. Can I do with with a simple 1-2 splitter (leaving the other end empty)?

I want to make sure I don't run into crazy signal loss.

I'm running a VIP 722 with an HD package from Dish.

only extend the cable with Rg 6 and a 3 gig barrel,splitters will not work.
