MPEG 4 Question

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere here before, but, will D* be convertring to mpeg 4 strictly for HD broadcasts or will SD broadcasts be in mpeg 4 in the future?, just wanting a heads up in case I will need to upgrade all my D* equiptment in the future to get the SD content

First hd receivers will be converted to mpeg4 and then the sd receivers . So in the next 2 - 3 years ALL receivers will be traded out. Same with Dishnetwork too.
