Multi DVR recording

I recently got 2 HR's connected in my set up, with SWM & whole home.

I'm suprised to find out that if one DVR is rec. 2 shows & I try to watch a 3rd show it won't. I was thinking the requested new show would connect to the 2nd DVR & show it on the first. Ha Ha.

Like a H-24 -25 does.

Or am I missing something?

No it won't do that. But you can watch a previous recording from that box OR the other box.

This is why they need a unified management system with MRV. You need to be able to see the recording schedule of all units on MRV and be able to assign a new recording to any machine on the MRV net.
