I have tried for 2 hours now trying to get T6 C-Band....and for the life of me I cannot lock it.

setup
6 foot Fortec dish
DMSI C-Band LNBF and the 621-2 combo
Pansat 1500
Toshiba TRX-1420 slaved

So I figured since this is my True South it should be easy...well I thought wrong

Locked on IA5 C-Band (BYU TV) and analog no issues....
Move to G3....lock on some stuff digital and analog no issues....
Move to IA6 and scan...get lots of those feeds on G3...so I'm too far west...move the dish a smidge and rescan...nothing
Move it a smidge more east and now I get G11

Thought...there is an analog feed right now I'll lock on that.....went to that channel and it looks like a distant UHF station...the stuff on G3 is crystal clear...even found a feed on G11 crystal clear...swapped LNB's and same thing.

Can lock both analog & digital on G11, IA8 (I assume it was IA8..thought I was on Doc Scott but wrong polarity..had a test card), G3, IA5, AMC4 (digital), AMC1 (both) but cannot lock T6. Yesterday when I tried I had the 4DTV out there too and could not lock Nebraska PBS on 4DTV either...could lock it on T5.

Is it me or the dish or neither (as in no digital feeds on T6)?

Yes, channel 1 and 7 (pornos) are on 24 hrs., but they are videocipher so the analog video will look scrambled. You should be able to peak it on one of these,
My 922 has these DCII channels mapped: 600, 601, 602, 603(HD), 612, 613, 614, 615, 616, 617, 973, 988, 999 (900s are audio) and they all work.

The data feed is 24/7 and the CBS HD channels are up almost 24/7. They usually have color bars when not broadcasting programming.

I did peak on those....even saw a smidge of porn :)

I'll have to drag the 4DTV back out and see

I got the data feed at a 30 max. The CBS HD feed was also at 30 but I couldnt get them at the same time. I did get one HD feed for most of the time at a 75 signal but 3 of the feeds you sent me I couldnt get a flicker (not even 10)

I think the dish is too small for IA6:(

Like I say, I can get G3 & G11 just fine...

It has to be a combination of high symbol rate + smal dish

I can get EWTN on G11 at 78 and WB/CW at 50
IA8 has Pentagon at 77

yeah t6 is my favorite satellite by far! there are 19 different tps for feeds on there, they are occasionals, 9 times out of 10 when i go to t6 there is at least one feed up there, around 8 or so central time you will find the cal lottery on channel 17, and usually on sunday night a mexican feed on channel 5, and as lynskyn replied a porn channel on tp 1 and 7 24 hrs a day. some times i have seen up to 12 feeds going at one time on t6. it is by far the best analog feeds satellite. when i am off on fridays i watch t6 from around 8 to 11 in the morning and on ch 15 jerry springer is on all morning,on channel 24 inside edition is on about 4 hrs,and channels 9 and 11 are full of videoconferences from actors and actresses,i watched some from nicole ritchie friday morning on t6 channel 6,she was badmouthing all the people she was talking to after they signed off because they all asked her if she was really doing the things the tabloids where saying. after each one was over was badmouthing them and talking on cell

yeah there is some great stuff on t6 analog, but i cant find anything on the dvb side of t6,just a music channel with no audio. but t6 analog just put it on ch 1 or 7, or in the morning from 5 til noon ch 15 and when you see springer or some scrambled looking porn you have found t6! are you using analog receiver or 4dtv? if you are using an old receiver it is 33 numbers east of g4 which has ch 16 and 17 are 24 hr channels the sheppards net and buena vista which is 24 hrs. and if you get amc 3 which has the university network on tp 20, t6 is 22 numbers west of that sat. on my chap mont 55 g4 is 4968 and t6 is 5001 position. t6 is a feed chasers dream satellite. actually the sats from g4 to t6 are the best feed sats on analog, g4,t5,g3,and t6 are full of feeds! good luck!

can't lock the 600's....I figured 612-615 since the FEC is lower I could lock but no dice :(

Can lock those on T5 though

same here

I'm on T6 that I know...but no DVB stuff
are you using analog receiver or 4dtv?
all 3
analog, DVB & 4DTV

I have to ghetto move my dish since its fixed. I already have a fixed dish at G4 so I know about those...Doc Scott comes in with sparklies.

I think its the dish

Went to IA8 and got Pentagon and analog no issues
Scooted to G11 and got EWTN, CW and a bunch of stuff on 4DTV (paid program crap...+7.2 Ebno) so G11 is good
Went to T6...nothing...no DVB, no 4DTV, scrambled porn
Went to G3 and got DVB, analog and 4DTV (4DTV was low but stable)
Went to IA5 and got 2 of 3 (DVB & 4DTV...no analog at the time)

So its gotta be the small dish :(

well my dish is 8 ft, i have heard that most 6 ft and up will get most c band.if you have to wake up early in the morning like i do, 5 am, you can put it on ch 15 and have someone watch the screen for you, or tape it and see if your dish picked up a signal if no maybe a tree is blocking the signal or something.

Yeah - 6 ft. for C Band is kinda pushing it

oh I know its pushing it...but it works for pretty much every other satellite
-was able to download the newest 4DTV maps on G5 no issues
-was able ot get AMC8, AMC7, G10, G5, Anik F2, Anik F1, AMC1, AMC4, G4, IA5, G3, G11, IA8 with no issues
-have used a 6 footer for over a year on G4 with 2nd LNB on AMC1

Yeah nowadays with the stronger birds a 6 footer can do quite a bit. When I first got into it back in '84 even an 8.5' dish was pushing it.

no trees in the way west of AMC3

The dish is in front of my garage. When I work on it, I take out the whole setup
Pansat 1500
Toshiba TRX-1420
905 sidecar

and it all sits on the tailgate of the truck :)

The analog got me to G5 yesterday :)

Once I take the dish to the backside of the house (next to the other one) then I'll just aim at T6 and see what happens on analog:)

Ice,

FWIW, when I was fooling around with my dish last year I had issues with IA6 as well so it must be the six footer for some reason. Even had trouble getting clear analog.
