On all the local HD i get audio drop outs (sounds like a buzz.. people call it stuttering).. and pixelation.. it's worst on NBC it seems. The SD channels are perfectly fine.

it's really annoying. I just want to watch TV and I get this!

I have only had Direct TV for about 2 months now and I have had a "HD specialist" come and out realign my dish and said he got me pretty good numbers. (maybe he didn't?)

I don't notice a problem on my national HD channels.

Since i know you will ask here are the numbers: Looks to me like my 99s number are not to hot. Is that the problem?

If i have to get someone out here to realign again, can you PLEASE tell me what i should have numbers before i let the guy leave? I don't want to have to do this again and again and again!

Also when i restart the receiver after the first "welcome" text on the blue screen.. i get a mess on the screen of random Crap.. then it clears.. then "a few more min" then it proceedes as usual

99c and 103c look a bit low. I have 90s across the board on those. 99S AND 103S are a bit tricky, As they are spot beams and vary from place to place. I'm thinking your elevation may be off by just a hair.

by the way i'm in pittsburgh, PA. By just a hair do you mean that i could go up there and give the elevation fine tuning bolts a turn and all will be fine?

It's quite possible you could do it yourself. It's not that hard. Use the receiver as a signal meter. Just have someone else there that can relay signals to you via cell phone or walkie talkie. If you post where you live, someone else that lives by you (and does not have your problem) would be good enough to post their signal levels.

Dan,
You have two threads open in seperate forums dealing with the same problem, I just responded in the other one.
Please try to keep to one thread for one problem, this way we can all help in the same spot.
Most of the regulars here scan thru all the D* sub forums.

btw, Welcome to the site !!!
