NASA Space Shuttle STS-129 Launch

A rare case of an on-time launch followed by an on-time landing. A perfect mission! :up :up

It is sad indeed. September 16 is currently targeted as the date of the last Shuttle launch...
But on the other hand, it's time to move on, to go to Space beyond the Low Earth Orbit and Shuttle is not going to take us there.

True, but still, watching that huge thing lift off is just amazing! 4.5 millions pounds goes up...about 200,000 pounds comes back...

What's the name of the shuttle replacement they're working on? I keep forgetting...
