Need Help on Fta set up with European receiver and DP set up

Hello,
I am new to the forum and have several questions if I may;
I live in SE coastal NC.
I purchased a European receiver which it has pre-installed Satellites that are not accessible from NA.
I have an existing DP 3 lnbf set up.
My questions:
Can I download NA satellite list and upload it via USB to the receiver.?
Is it possible to use DP set up for fta?
I also have an fta Ku band lnb I can install.

to the forum! As far as I can see, there is next to nothing on the internet about that receiver. Does the manual have anything in English regarding setup? There may be an option in the menus to delete the European sats and manually add those for North America, however your best option would probably be to return it and purchase a receiver that is supported here in the US. There are several options, I personally use an Amiko Mini HD SE and I'm very happy with it. It comes pre-loaded with the NA sat list and regular firmware updates are provided as needed. The receiver is in English now.
I have deleted all the EU set ups. The issue with that model is, it will not scan without satellite or satellite list programmed. As far as the dish, I am picking up signals as it is lined up for Galaxy 19. but because of the receiver I can not do anything.
the receiver will allow me to upload satellite list via usb.
When I tried it ( in EU ) before I brought it here, it has scanned all the satellites were installed and programmed all the channels. it is great quality but if is not going to work in the US i may have to invest in something else.
As far as the dish, I was waiting to clarify all above before i invest in it. I am used to use 36'' or 39'' dish with multi lnb set ups.

Don't mean to say you can't use that receiver if you can find a way to add the North American sats - just saying it would be much easier to have a receiver that is ready for North America and supported by firmware/sat list updates as things change. As far as Galaxy 19, that is a very easy sat to get (strong signal/mostly DVB). If you want to get other sats though, keep in mind that broadcasters are rapidly changing to DVB-S2 format and you will need a bigger dish for reliable reception. Have you determined if there is an option in the menus to manually edit/add sats to the receiver? Or does it require a complete sat list to be uploaded?

Also, if you are able to add a satellite to the receiver manually, does it have the ability to blind scan? If so use that. If not, you will also need to manually add all the transponders for that satellite before you scan.

That's strange - if the sat is added correctly, blind scan should run. Are other settings correct (lnb type, frequency, etc)? Have you tried manually adding a transponder to that sat and then doing a regular scan of that transponder? Also, if you have a web address for the company that makes the receiver, please post.

It wont let me post the web add in here. this receiver does auto update through the satellite itself. I am not familiar with NA operations but learning slowly.

I found the website but didn't see a manual or satellite list to download. Have you tried contacting customer support at the company who manufactured your receiver? They may be able to email you a file so you can load a satellite list for North America, if one is available, or explain how to manually add them so that the scan will work. Don't know which satellite they use for their auto-update but its unlikely that is provided on any of the NA satellites. A manual update may be the only option other than switching to a different receiver.

I have brought it with me. I will do a research on it a little more. it is a new receiver so maybe in time I may see more posting about it on the web.

The receiver does blind scan. I reset it to manufacturers specs and it does blind scan and transponder scan. but i have not tried it with the new Ku lnbf and manual entry.

I would to try to steer away from dp equipment since its not the best to start out with. A nice 36'' round dish is the best way to go with a ku band linear lnb easiest way to get started.

Do DP eom set up get fta channels? Before I discard them i would like to find out if they can be used? Especially since Galaxy 19 has good signal and easy to get from my location.
Also, Assuming, i may get Galaxy 19 with DP dish and fta ku band lnb service?

You can reuse the center lnb they do work for fta but you need scan vertical only or you get double amount of channels. It will take time to work with that lnb. Fss is the one you need.
