Hi, I am new at this. Trying to setup my fta dish, etc. Need help on confirming settings on installation...have a invacom quad lnb, diseqc 1.2 motor and coolsat 6000 receiver. My zipcode is 32162 (Florida). Presently, I can't get any signal. Can anyone out there help? Thanks, ladila

WELCOME to the SatelliteGuys.US FTA forum, I would just use a Linear output of the LNBF for now without any switch. Make sure the L.O. (LNB Freq.) is at 10750

Here are all the angles to the satellites from your area.

Your "true south" (TS) satellite appears to be Nimiq 2 (82 west). TS is the satellite that you use to properly set up a motorized dish. Once you've got that established, the motor will take of the rest of the satellites in the sky.

But... it's probably a better idea to simply mount only the dish on a mast so you get a feeling of where to manually aim the dish.

Nimiq 2 is a DBS satellite and you'll need a circular LNB to properly get a signal. Fortunately the QPH-031 has a circular output so it's a matter of hooking you receiver to the "C" port, selecting Nimiq 2 in your receiver and start aiming away!

First thing is to look at PSB's list and set your dish's elevation to what is listed for Nimiq 2 and using an active transponder, aim your dish more or less due south of your location. Make small, incremental adjustments in azimuth (left or right) and elevation (up or down) until you get a signal.

Unfortunately, some of the transponders on 82 are beamed more towards Canada so you may not get a signal on some of them down in Florida.

mrweather, thank you ever so much...I'll try to get started with your instructions...

Also let us know what brand of motor you have! That matters :)
