Hi guys! yesterday i was trying to hookup my new lnb (DMX741) CKu and the conical scalar ring that recently bough from WS International in a promotion they were doing here. :D

I just couldn't do it. I've tried everything in the book and for Ku I get like 55 strength and 0 Quality.

One thing that I noticed was that when I changed from menu to tv and vice versa, there was a very good signal Quality and picture baut just for a micro second!! hehe.

I have a motorised system, and it was already working very good with my HH powertech DG280 , Fortec star 90cm dish, and my Ivacom quad qph-031 and the receiver is a Captive works 700

Which C band satellite(s) are you trying to point to?

For Ku, you will not receive a high quality signal because the Ku portion of the LNBF is off of the focal point of the dish as it sits behind the C band portion.

Thanks for the reply, I was trying with G16 99W and satmex6 113W for C band. :confused::confused:

For the c band is happening the same thing, strength but no Quality.

You listed a 90CM Dish, is that what you are try to get C Band on?
If so, that may be a little small, most try at least 1 Meter, and more use 120cm.

few thoughts:

Yea, no kidding!
I don't have a list of the hottest C-band signals for you to try, but I think Iceberg does in his thread below.
Also, see the Linuxman 1m thread for hot C-band signals to experiment with.

I think the first thing to do is get ANY C-band, then you can look for more desirable ones!

AND, to that end, make sure your LNBF is centered on the dish, and at the same elevation as the original LNB (not easy!)
If it's off elevation, then your motor won't track properly - period!

Do you have the C-band LNBF skewed properly?

Iceberg (and others) do 84e on C

[09:19] <Anole> Fred - how do you orient the DMX741 at TS ?
[09:19] <Linuxman> you can put the 0 line at either north or south
[09:20] <Linuxman> it has a plus or minus 10 degrees off center if i remember correctly
