Need Help

I'm brand new to Dish Network but I want to be able to set up a DN system when I camp using the pay as you go feature. What dish do I buy and receiver? I need to feed 2 differnent tvs. We don't move the camper after we arrive. Is the dish easy to set up and get a signal? I'm confused about the different, "Arcs" I've read about.

Direct Tv dish was very easy to set up. I depolyed the dish next to the camper, face the dish south and with in a few minutes of adjusting the dish, I was done.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Do I have to buy the equipment from DN? Or can I buy used equipment?

First do you need HD or will SD do?

For SD with no DVR a D500 with a Dish 322 will do.

For HD you need a Dish 1000.4 probably WA and a Dish ViP 222. This gives you HD on TV1 output and SD on TV2 output.

I believe for this type of setup, purchased equipment is required.

SolidSignal.com has a D1000.4WA setup with a tripod for Camping, RVing or Tailgating for under $180 for the dish and all cableing, shipping included.

They also have an open box ViP222 for $101.99, so you could get an HD setup for under $300.

If you want HD, the 1000.2 is for our Western Arc satellites (119,110, 129), with the 1000.4 for our Eastern Arc (72.7, 77, 61.5). Using a dual receiver will save you additional monthly receiver charges. The arc is dependent upon your line-of-sight.
