I received the network kit from DirecTv today and I installed it. Everything looks fine and is even downloading a movie.

I have 2 questions...

Does it take awhile for the guide to show the channels in the 1,000's?

How do I get the HR20 to share music and pictures from my computers?

Yes, Give it a few hours. It does take a bit to update the guide data.

You need to run server programs from a PC. Do a search for "MediaShare". You can use Windows Media Player, TVersity, Nero MediaHome and others to act as a server to allow the HR2x to "see" media files from your PC.

Be careful with Nero MediaHome. There have been many people, including myself, who have tried this and it totally locked the system down requiring a RBR to recover, but only after Nero has been shutdown.
