New 811 Software P3.30

According to Dish's website there is a new version of software in limited release for the 811. Sorry no details yet. What will they fix and break this time? Stay tuned for all the fun!

I'm hoping that this will fix the issue we have here where the NBC and CBS EPG data doesn't show up, but FOX and ABC does.

Wow, now it would be to funny if this actually had something to do with me, but.......

I've had an issue with TBS 139 not showing up in my guide. Ever, as far as I know. No direct access, either. Just goes to 140. I kept putting off calling about it until this past Sat. I never saw anyone mention it here, so I figured I was the only one.

I went through 2 levels of tech support doing all the normal stuff. Nothing helped. He said he thought it was a software issue (but no one else had a problem?) and he would expedite it somehow. He said if not fixed by Wed to call back.

That would be to wierd if this somehow was just a quick fix for my problem.

Did you try a switch check? Also if you have any channels locked and hidden..try unlocking and unhideing the channels..maybe its locked by mistake

Oh sure, all the regular tech support stuff. Cold boots, warm boots, etc. The only lock I use is the adult lock. Wouldn't think that should matter, but then I've seen weirder things happen with dish. I guess I'll just call them tomorrow.

Any ideas as to wierd numbering scheme? Why did we go from 2.84 to 2.87 to 2.89 and then all the way to 3.30?

Really, though, I have no idea. I doubt they would totally throw in the towel with the current OS and bring out a brand-spanking new one. Maybe this goes along with the New Dish rebranding...

The reason for the jump is because Dish does not reuse version numbers across receivers. 2.90 to 3.30 have been used by other receivers.

Well crap, I was using channel locks afterall. I had forgotten about locking that bingo channel, and for some reason 139 was checked also. ?????? Have no idea why I would have done that. Oh well, at least TBS is back now.

I hate this pos 811...every other day, I lose all my programming, have to do a hard reset and run switch test every time....I'm tired of calling Dish....they say nothing is wrong. If I had a chain saw, I would sneak over to my neighbor's yard and cut down his trees so I can get Direct TV. My old 311 upstairs never has a problem. Screw Dish HD and Voom and that stupid 811....I've only had the HD package 3 months and have seen everything over and over and over again...the best deal HD is still OTA for free.

Received P3.30 today and both my 811 are working perfectly...just as they have since they were installed in early May. I didn't noticed any differences, but I am hoping the OTA channels lock a little faster.

You probably locked channel 139 when it was a sports event preview channel. I did the same thing.

Got P330 today... no probs to report yet.

One thing I noticed is that channel browsing appears to be a tad faster now.

You probably locked channel 139 when it was a sports event preview channel. I did the same thing.

Ahhhh, yes, now that you mention it....... I forgot about that channel - figured the slot for 139 was blank. Too bad 2nd level tech support didn't have that in their notes - 40+ minutes of wasted time.

I got 3.30 today and at first the letter "V" in the guide was hosed, like a bad bitmap in Windows, but a reboot cured it, as always. I hope they fixed the video stuttering, I'm getting very tired of my DVR'd recordings getting hosed.
