I'm not familiar with On demand is there 200 sperate channels or one channel and you select the movie?

You hit the On Demand button or inupt channel 1. That takes you to the On Demand Menu which is organized by category. You select a single program to watch like you would a DVR recording. Most are free, some are not.

One channel, channel 1 to be exact. You select whatever you want to watch and it appears on your TV. Think of it like a giant DVR.
