Turns out it was DOA, so I got it back and here are the pics

Are they only one reciever with this card? Could it be a dealer card? I am hearing it is a ROM 206 card.

DD was right on money. New generation cards coming, new swap started.

huh, the only irds that were pains for me to get card activated was 721 and 7200. ive never dealt with a 311 though

It won't accuire a signal, the receiver powers up along with the menu's just fine

typical it's a dish reman ready for consumer and it cant aquire signal couldnt resist

Why are there some receivers that take a card to put in front and others that are internal only?

What Receivers get cards to use ?

All of them. Just some newer ones have an initial "built in" smart card. They all have slots for later cards with newer, presumably better/more secure cards.

I have models 322 and did have a 522 now a 625 and I never had to use a card I do know its built in these units.

Do these models have cards that go in the front ever ?

Or only built in ones?
