I have not had time to try this yet. I will report when I get around to doing the upgrade myself.

Thanks ke4est,
I downloaded the update and got it installed without any problems. I like the opening screen! Took a little longer to figure out to install the WebTV. But I got and it and works great so far. Just by quickly going through it, all seems to work great. Won't know on the tech side without more testing. By the way, I used the online upgrade! Works fine!

Good to know it will go smooth with the online upgrade! That's the way I am going to go.

I am trying to do it and it says bootloader mismatch what can it be?

I haven't upgraded my receiver since the upgrade of the manual pids for the channels on 99. My loader is M3606B 1.1.3

The bootloader is included with the file. Maybe you are using the wrong file. I updated with USB and had no issues whatsoever.

I purchased this box a few weeks ago. It's nice to have a FTA box that works.

I tried installing it with the HTTP update, but for some reason I don't think the correct address is http://192.168.30.165/a.abs because it is a private address.

USB update was successful. A few bugs still need to be fixed.

I have a few other issues including not being able to send DiSEqC commands. I rebooted the switch and it *seems* to have fixed it. I also had a problem with selecting a channel and spontaneous reboots. Haven't had this second problem since the switch reboot. As a result, I know have just over 120 TPs blindscanned into 99W, most of which need to be deleted.

Haven't tried the WebTV yet...

I've sent in a request to Joe to get info on what is going on with this boot loader issue.

I spent awhile with mine today trying different ways to update the firmware, including wrong ways, and I can't replicate it.
I never did get the on-line to work. I know I've got it to work before, and I checked everything with my internet is working.
I can also get on the weather app and other stuff through the receiver.

Yesterday i tried the online to and never worked that why I tried the USB way!

Wow, Guess I got lucky with my upgrade! I wish I could tell you how I did it, but all I did was print out the instructions and everything seem to work. When I said I did it online, I used my DSL line hooked into the receiver with Cat5. Hope everyone can get the update! I also get the weather app. and WebTV. I'm afraid to touch anything else at this point. I did a backup just in case!!!:).

Make sure everyone is following the below instructions for this upgrade exactly! Esspecially the BOLD:

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
Follow this procedure EXACTLY or you will end up with no satellites at all and you’ll wipe all of your channels and settings. This version is NTSC for North America. For New Zealand & Australia, contact www.amikonz.com

This upgrade is different than a typical upgrade in that the bootloader must be upgraded. It requires 2 steps and a different upgrade mode instead of the single step normally used.

1. MAKE A BACKUP. This contains the satellites and your current channels, settings and other data. Plug in a USB flash drive. Go to MENU > SYSTEM > BACKUP TO USB and press OK. You’ll end up with an .abs file starting with “bak-“

2. Go to MENU > SYSTEM > UPGRADE BY USB and press OK. On the “Upgrade File” line press OK and select NANOHD_1.1.76NTSCPATCH.abs

3. Arrow to “Upgrade Mode” and change it to “All SW + bootloader”.

4. Arrow to “Start” and press OK. Nano HD will upgrade and reboot in NTSC 480i (analog) mode. There will be no satellite database, channels or settings.

5. Go back to MENU > SYSTEM > UPGRADE BY USB and press OK. Select the backup you made earlier. Change “Upgrade Mode” to “Channel List”. Arrow to “Start” and press OK. Nano HD will load the satellite database, your channels & settings and then reboot.

Optional but highly recommended
-------------------------------
Now that you have successfully upgraded the firmware and bootloader and restored your channels you should make a new backup with everything in it. This will save you the extra steps above should you need to restore or revert your Nano HD. I recommend doing this on a spare USB Flash drive that you can leave alone and put somewhere safe if ever needed.

1. Go to MENU > SYSTEM > DEFAULT SETTING.
2. Select “Save default value” and press OK. This writes all your preferences and database into the default memory.

3. Go to MENU > SYSTEM > BACKUP TO USB and make a new backup. If you want you can change the name of the backup file to anything you want.

*** ALL SOFTWARE IS USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ***

I have attached the file

So since this is upgrading the boot loader no Internet update use a USB drive.

Anyone try the WebTV?

Yes you can still use internet upgrade, just some were having issues. I was confirming address with Joe. :)
So here are the internet instructions again. Make sure when you go into to do it the address that it is looking at is: http :/ /www.namini.tk/n.abs Then follow below:

Firmware version 1.6.09 is for the HD 8240 or the Mini HD, not a Nano HD. What receiver do you Have?
