New guy with cable question

Hi.

I've got a Dish VIP211 HD satellite receiver. It has an HDMI output.

I also have a Sony SDM-P234 LCD monitor which has a DVI-D input.

I've purchased an HDMI-to-DVI cable.

I thought I would check in with the smart folks on this site before I attempt to drive this monitor with my HD sat receiver.

Will this work? Any response appreciated. If I'm way off base just tell me. Thank you.

Sure will, you may need a seperate audio feed but the video should work.
