New Hopper Plus and Joey 4s have major flaw at release

Another minor issue that will be on the Logitech side. The new Hopper Plus makes about half of the commands on the Harmony remote inactive. Not sure why this is happening as the commands, like channel up/down, pause, etc are not new to the operating system. This should be a simple fix once Logitech enters it into their system as a new device. And yes, I know of Logitech's sunsetting these devices, but the software updates are still adding new devices.

Another smaller item is that the Google Voice assistant doesn't recognize the OTA channels. I rarely use voice commands, so that's not really an issue for me.

Ok, here's what I have learned so far....

1. There is a major flaw with each unit up-converting every video signal to HDR. There isn't a setting anywhere to turn this off or set to auto detect when a true HDR signal is detected. This makes watching regular SD and HD channels look too dark and "processed". I have spent a lot of time with proper equipment/software calibrating my TVs for their respective viewing environments and do not have the ability to use these Picture modes because the only options are the preset HDR Picture modes that came with my TVs.

2. Joey 4 will work on a Hopper 3 without having the Hopper Plus connected. This configuration will allow the Joey 4 to see and play the 4K channels 540-1 and 540-2.

3. Each unit Hopper Plus and Joey 4 have Android TV loaded on them.

4. Each unit is missing the ability in Dish settings > TV to change the Video Resolution and Aspect Ratio.

I am sure there are other bugs but I have been focused on the video signal at the moment.
Is the non-HDR programming not look as good as before??? Describe, please!

Could use some help; bumping this in case there have been any new updates/workarounds that I am unable to find. Dish just gave me 4 Joey 4's to replace my 4K's (and also a Hopper+). I was supposed to receive wireless Joey 4's, but the installer said the wired ones worked better and that the wireless ones have no wired LAN port. Then he went on to install them with MOCA only anyway. Now I have stretched SD programming with no workaround (my TV has no such function either), and several crucial Logitech Harmony buttons won't work/program even by learning. It seems like the "IR remote" functionality on the Joey's is disabled even if enabled in the menu. I'd thought I could activate Google Home as a workaround (via a Google device, not the button on the Dish remote - i.e. say "OK Google, show menu" etc. for commands that the Harmony won't do) but I cannot get Google Home to work with the Joey 4's. I cannnot reach anyone in Dish Technical Support knowledgeable enough who could answer my questions...

1) Will the Hopper+ work with older Dish remotes that still had an actual aspect ratio button (and would that button work)? Does the Wireless Joey 4 also lack an aspect ratio function?
2) Am I right that the Joey 4's don't work with IR? How about the Wireless Joey 4's? Has anyone found a workaround to make Harmony hubs/remotes (or other learning remotes) fully functional?
3) Am I right that the Joey 4's won't set up properly to work by voice command with a standalone Google speaker? Is the wireless Joey 4 the same?
4) Was it a mistake to let the tech switch me to wired Joey 4's instead of wireless? I could have had either at the same cost (or at least used a wireless one in the room that lacks a hardwired ethernet connection).

I am tempted to go back to Joey 4K on at least 2 of the TV's just to get my Harmony hub/remotes working properly again, but I've read that they actually lack full 4K capability like the Joey 4 has. I would hate to backtrack and lose the unified apps, only to learn that there are workarounds I didn't know about (or fixes in the works). Dish support was useless. Thanks in advance for your help.
