How do I see new posts for just the FTA section not the entire forum ?

Or you can go to a forum and pick the watch this forum option that appears on the upper right side of the page. You can select if you want alerts or email. Then when you come to SGs you can go to the forums then pick watched forums from the upper left side of the forum page.
