They might make you pay for you first months programming. Credit check is possible, thats a standard practice anymore.

They might, But If I were you I would call myself so I knew exactly what the terms are and what I would be exactly be paying.
I just got connected on Saturday and I had to get a credit check and give them a credit card number in case you cancel service early. I didn't have to pay anything up front, but did choose to pay two months of service in order to be enrolled in autopay to take advantage of the $0.01 Cinemax per month deal.
