Price Increase on Owned Equipment?

So...I got my bill today, and it is NOT what I was expecting. As I mentioned earlier, there was that $5 charge for "Access for TV", and then I was given a 3 month courtesy credit to balance it out due to a glitch. The glitch was resolved and now I am saving $5.

However, on my account, there is an additional one-time courtesy credit of $9. That is a really random number for a courtesy credit. That $9 lines up with the cost built into each package for the initial receiver access to programming.

I am also being given a $5 courtesy credit for 6 months. It looks like multiple people tried to fix my account - which it is nice to have the courtesy credits.

But at the same time - I do think that "Access for TV" $5 was not truly a glitch and is something that is going to be showing up at some point in the future.

Mostly she's just tech challenged, and doesn't really listen to my advice.

For some reason, her iPhone seems to randomly disconnect.
I have worked all of the Apple suggested fixes with no real improvement.

The one thing that I have not done, is a total network reset.
She's does not want to lose all of the other networks on the phone, and needing to redo all of that.

Well my contract expired today, I knew this was coming and dreaded it. Dish wanted to increase my bill 35% for the exact same service I had and this was for Amer. 120 and a 922, and 2 Wally's I own. I even offered to replace the 922 with an additional Wally I used for my RV which would would be dropping another tv. This didn't help much.

After going back and forth with customer retention they couldn't really do much even with locking myself into a contract.

Anyway, arranged for disconnection at the end of the billing cycle which I was paid 100%. I didn't want to disconnect today and have them send me the prorated balance which would be pennies on the dollar I am sure. There is no doubt in my mind Dish is going the way of the Dodo.

I gave them the opportunity, I even offered to downgrade to cut the prices back. They could not do it. I honestly think they got themselves into such a bad position financially the just can't compete with other vendor offers.

So as of July 12th, I am done, after 20 years, bye bye Dish, things change unfortunately you did for the worse. I want to say thanks to all the members of the forum and the forum itself, for which really helped with issues I had through out the years. Best wishes to all and no worries!

In theory, tomorrow Dish will be listing their price increases. If you read through their terms and conditions for their current deals, it says "Advertised price requires credit qualification and eAutoPay. Upfront activation and/or receiver upgrade fees may apply based on credit qualification. Offer ends 9/9/2026 and is subject to change"

This implies that the new prices are going to go in effect on 9/10/2026. (last year the new prices went in effect 9/11/2025) Some states require that Dish let their subscribers know of any price increases 30 days in advance, which would be tomorrow if the recent pattern holds true.

I am very interested to see if that "glitch" on my account earlier this summer of the additional $5 for the first TV is a part of it.

Any price changes would be listed here: MyDISH

I went to try to add the Heartland channel as dummy to see what it would do for me as I own my receiver and have DISH Outdoors and this is what mine shows. (Note however I had to take the 2nd receiver I told you I added the other day off because I was told you can only have 1 receiver when you have a one outlet on the Dish Playmaker and was having issues with the 2nd receiver and I didn't know that and that was done yesterday as well so I am back to one receiver.)
