New to Direct-need a little help

We just had Direct tv HD installed at my home. we have one HD in living room, one down stairs and 3 regular receivers.

I wanted to take one of the non HD receivers and install it in my garage. My garage is about 150 yards from the house. I have an old dish 500 and an old direct tv dish with a tripple head lnb. I have installed both dishes and aligned them using a satellite finder. I have found 118.8 directtv7s but the receiver cannot find any signal.

What do i need to do?

The Directv dish will work fine. Once you have the dish set up properly, in the menu settings on the receiver you need to change it to Triple LNB (or Phase III)...right now they have it set up for something else.

menu--setup--then there is an option for satellite---then its something like rerun sat setup (I'm not near a receiver right now to check)

Nothing is working. Could it be due to the new dish and LNB being a slimline? Doesn't that use the KA KU band?

Is the LNB a SWM version. In which case, you'll need SWM capable receivers.
